Pregnancy after loss

Making room for mixed feelings

Hope and fear can exist at the same time after a previous pregnancy loss.

There is no required emotional response

Another pregnancy can bring excitement, anxiety, grief, caution or emotional distance. Feelings can also change from day to day.

Support can be practical as well as emotional

Some people find it helpful to think about who they want updates from, what conversations feel supportive, and which situations increase or reduce anxiety.

Counselling

Counselling can provide a private place to explore what the previous loss means in the context of the current pregnancy, without requiring you to feel positive or negative in a particular way.
