Confidentiality
Understand privacy before counselling begins.
We provide a confidential counselling service. Ask us for the current practice-specific confidentiality information before agreeing to ongoing work.
Questions to ask
Ask us what is treated as confidential, who may have access to information, how professional supervision is handled and whether there are circumstances in which information could be shared.
Records and personal information
You can also ask what information is recorded, why it is needed, how it is protected, how long it is kept and how you can exercise your data-protection rights.
Starting with minimal information
You do not need to send a detailed personal, medical or counselling history when first contacting Anchor House. A name, safe contact details and a practical question are enough to begin.
